Collier lab

Drosophila developmental genetics

The fruit fly Drosophila melanogaster is a powerful model organism for the study of animal development. In the Collier lab we investigate the way in which cells organize and communicate during the development of epithelial cell layers. We study genetic pathways that are conserved in humans and our work has implications for numerous events in human development.

There are many ways in which students can become involved in our research. Opportunities exist for graduates (MS and PhD) as well as undergraduates (capstone, independent study, research scholarships). Please contact me if you are interested in being part of the Collier research group.
