Laura received a Bachelor's degree in biochemistry from Ohio Wesleyan University, followed by M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in physical chemistry from the University of Chicago and a postdoctoral fellowship at Yale University. She teaches courses in introductory chemistry and physical chemistry. Her undergraduate research group studies the gas-phase thermal decomposition of organic compounds in order to identify chemical intermediates and products using matrix-isolation FTIR spectroscopy.
